INFO:
Why women have to stop perpetuating patriarchy: While there are plenty of villainous “bad guys” in the history of patriarchy and even my own story, the inconvenient truth is that women played at least half a part. I resisted that for years, craving the binary, leaning into statistics that women are safer, softer, and sweeter than men. But as I healed from the trauma of high-control religion and a high-control relationship, over and over again I had to face the truth in others and often myself: patriarchy is propagated by scared women. And without their quiet, fear-based controlling co-dependent support, the whole thing falls down. That’s both the bad and the good news. Empowering women who feel smashed by the patriarchy means half the sky can stand on her own. She’s not afraid. She doesn’t make decisions out of fear of damnation, excommunication, rejection, or hell. She raises confident children with healthy education and autonomy. Her daughters have agency. Her sons collaborate. She makes informed decisions according to facts, patterns, discernment, love, faith and wisdom. Fear isn’t welcome at the table: it’s addressed and solved, acknowledged and cared for. But it’s not the driver. Matriarchs have a calling to balance society. I believe that. The solution, like the problem, includes us too. Want to know more about what it’s really like in Christian Fundamentalism? Grab my free FUNDIE CHEATSHEET, link in bio.
